SAP Joins G-Cloud ii Framework
SAP and SuccessFactors cloud applications selected for inclusion in new CloudStore
SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) is among the latest suppliers to successfully join the UK Government’s G-Cloud ii programme. Officially open for business on 26th October 2012, G-Cloud ii lists approximately twenty services from SAP and SuccessFactors, double the number SAP listed on G-Cloud i.
With fewer than 500 successful suppliers delivering more than 3,000 services, the CloudStore demonstrates the UK Government’s ongoing commitment to the adoption of more cost-effective delivery models for ICT services and resources. Leveraging the CloudStore, the government can quickly and easily find the right partners to deliver the right services at the right prices and terms. As chosen suppliers, SAP and SuccessFactors will offer a range of cloud solutions under the G-Cloud Framework that enable the government to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its operations, from SAP Business ByDesign and SAP Travel OnDemand to Business Execution (BizX) suite.
“SAP’s strategy to deliver cloud-based applications that enable companies to more effectively manage people, customers, suppliers and finance supports the Cabinet Office’s desire to operate in an efficient and cost-effective manner,” said Tim Noble, managing director, SAP UK and Ireland. “The solutions we have now made available on the CloudStore will directly support government departments and business’ to adhere to budget settlements and improve the overall efficiency and quality of services offered.”
Cloud computing is the future of business and a core part of SAP’s strategy. SAP is heavily investing in the cloud with 20 million users across more than 6,000 customers. Through innovations in social, mobile, cloud and the in-memory technology of the SAP HANA® platform and the recent acquisition of Ariba, the world’s largest business commerce network used by more than 1 million companies, SAP’s solutions enable companies to collaborate in new ways and drive unprecedented levels of productivity in their sales, procurement, invoice and payment processes.
“Procuring new services, particularly when it comes to technology, has traditionally been a difficult process for the public sector. As a provider which has traditionally worked very closely with public sector services, we are thrilled to be included in the latest CloudStore,” said Noble.

About The G-Cloud Programme
The G-Cloud Programme is a cross government initiative led by Andy Nelson (Ministry of Justice) supported by Denise McDonagh (Home Office) under the direction of the Chief Information Officer Delivery Board as part of the Government ICT Strategy.
The initial focus is on introducing cloud ICT services into government departments, local authorities and the wider public sector. In order to do this we have undertaken a G-Cloud procurement framework for services under the OJEU process. These services can then be reviewed and purchased through the CloudStore. At present there are 4 categories of services: Infrastructure, Software, Platform and Specialist Services and details of the process and how to buy can be found here.
