SAP and CIBER Make Planning Easy at Aurum Jewellery Group
AURUM, the largest luxury jewellers in the UK, which owns retail brands including Watches of Switzerland, Mappin & Webb and Goldsmiths within its portfolio, has selected SAP Planning for Retail from CIBER and partner TRILAM to streamline business processes and save costs across the business.
A change in market conditions and a real need for retailers to offer a multi-channel shopping experience made AURUM evaluate its business processes and look at areas for improvement. The organisation has been using SAP for Retail, supported by CIBER for several years and because of the success of the solution went back to CIBER to determine what technology the organisation should invest in to drive the business forward.
AURUM chose to invest in SAP Planning for Retail to help the business to overcome the challenges it faced around visibility and planning. The solution will enable AURUM to structure its merchandise planning processes based on local customer preferences and create inventory transparency throughout the group. SAP Planning for Retail will deliver data from a single, central source and integrate with store, catalogue and web inventories, making it easier for planners to set and execute strategic objectives that dictate the direction of multichannel merchandising. The solution will integrate with AURUM’s current SAP landscape with the implementation due to commence at the end of this month.
Steve Sargent, CFO, AURUM, commented; "The SAP solution we have invested in is fully integrated and has powerful customer centric planning and simulation functions. It will allow us to have the right mix of products at each individual store depending on sales patterns. We also expect to see savings across stock reduction and costs savings in logistics through better planning. Our finance, merchandising and store operations will also be streamlined and more efficient."
