SAP and Samsung Collaborate to Securely Scale Android Enterprise Deployments

SAP NEWSBYTE - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced further collaboration with Samsung to provide mobile security and management solutions for Samsung KNOX. Many of the world’s largest enterprises depend on SAP® applications for their critical business processes, and that trust now extends to enable the safe adoption of Android in the enterprise.

With the increasing use of smartphones in business, Samsung KNOX addresses the mobile security needs of enterprise IT, without invading the privacy of its employees. SAP and Samsung are expanding their long-term partnership to address the management and security concerns commonly faced by enterprises using Samsung Android devices. Samsung KNOX adds fundamental security and management enhancements, including its unique application container technology which enables businesses to support both bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and corporate-liable models, without compromising corporate security or employee privacy.

The enterprise-preferred SAP® Afaria® mobile device management solution will offer industry-leading security and management controls for Samsung KNOX devices. This support of Samsung KNOX capabilities heightens the breadth of SAP’s current support of Samsung Approved for Enterprise (SAFE).

When KNOX devices are managed by SAP Afaria, businesses will be able to effectively manage and secure large numbers of disparate users, bringing their own devices, apps or mobile content into the workplace from the most widely deployed enterprise mobility management solution in the industry.
