SAP and UTS Offer Short Courses to Plug Enterprise Systems Skills Gap
Sydney, Australia - The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and SAP have joined forces to develop a self-paced online learning program that aims to fill an enterprise systems skills gap for employers across the country.
The program is made up of a series of short courses that were developed in response to feedback that companies were struggling to find employees with the right enterprise solutions experience and skill set, which was costing them time and money for additional training.
Starting in mid-2013, the course will be delivered in a blended style, with face-to-face content from UTS Business School academics and online content from SAP uAcademy.
The program is aimed at students with qualifications or experience in accounting, operations management, sales or IT. It can be taken as a standalone professional development course or as a pathway to the full Master of Business in Accounting.
UTS Associate Professor Bernhard Wieder says: "We know that a large number of organisations use enterprise systems to do their accounting and that they are looking for employees with the knowledge, practical skills and ability in SAP enterprise solutions.
"We are excited to build on our longstanding relationship with SAP Education to address this shortage, which is a problem not only in Australia and New Zealand, but in many markets around the world."
SAP Education Channel Manager Aroon Wadvani said that partnering with UTS was a logical choice for the business.
"We believe UTS are best placed to deliver this course. They have the right learning model and advanced level of SAP expertise to successfully support and execute this program.
"Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that every SAP solution is designed, implemented and supported by someone with certified SAP qualifications."
