Rolling out a mobile expenses application on SAP Sybase Unwired Platform, Barclays Bank PLC opted for a Rapid Development Approach with a number of releases, ensuring close integration with the existing back end SAP HR travel and expenses system. The business needed a secure, efficient method for employees to file and manage travel expense claims from their mobile devices anywhere, at any time. The implementation was closely managed at each critical deployment juncture, involving key areas of the business as and when appropriate.
The completed project fully supports its initial objectives; delivering 30% time saving whilst enabling administrative activities during previous unproductive time and the overall improvement of compliance, resulting in fewer lost receipts and more regular submissions.
