SAP strengthens its Cloud presence in Asia Pacific and Japan region with strategic appointment

SYDNEY - SAP Australia today announced the appointment of Greg Harbor as Regional Vice President, Cloud Sales and Go-to-Market, SAP Asia Pacific and Japan. The strategic appointment is aimed at supporting SAP’s cloud strategy by strengthening its focus in the region on cloud solutions for four lines of business to manage people, money, customers and suppliers.

In his new role, Harbor will be responsible for the go-to-market and sales delivery of the SAP Cloud solutions portfolio covering all Customer and Financial Line of Business solutions, excluding Human Capital Management solutions. As a member of the Global Cloud Sales Leadership team, he will be accountable for the development of the regional growth strategy and associated execution to ensure the expansion of the SAP Cloud business in India, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North Asia, Japan and China.

“Playing a leadership role in cloud across the Asia Pacific and Japan region is an outstanding opportunity. Having spent close to a billion dollars on acquisitions of leading cloud companies like SuccessFactors and Ariba to complement our existing cloud services, SAP is extremely well positioned to drive success,” said Greg Harbor.

“Cloud solutions are a vital ingredient to our customer success and our own growth aspirations, and APJ is a significant part of this growth expectation.”

Previously, Harbor was Vice President of On-Demand Solutions for SAP Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) and a member of the SAP ANZ Senior Leadership Team. In the interim, he will continue looking after the SAP’s Cloud Sales operations in the ANZ region until a successor is found.

Harbor has been with SAP for over eight years in various positions, including Vice President of Industry Strategy and Value Management and Head of Value Engineering and Enterprise Pre-Sales. Prior to SAP, he held senior executive roles with organizations including Cap Gemini, Accenture, and Deloitte.
