SAP Names Mark White General Manager of Global Public Services and Healthcare Industries
SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced the appointment of Mark White as general manager of the global public services and healthcare industries. White will be responsible for SAP’s public services and healthcare footprint, which covers government, postal, defense and security, healthcare and education customers globally. White will report directly to Simon Paris, who recently took on the newly established role of global head of strategic industries, covering financial services industries, retail and public services. The strategic industries team will provide customers with a streamlined customer engagement model and intensify collaboration with customers and partners.
“Mark brings the experience needed to grow a key business for SAP,” said Paris. “Just as IT has moved to the heart of public service and healthcare delivery, these industries — always strategic to us — are now at the heart of SAP’s brand and agenda. Mark is an experienced, proven professional who knows how to motivate a team and get results. His collaborative, straightforward approach is exactly what we need to achieve our ambitious public services and healthcare goals.”
White will lead a team dedicated to addressing today’s complex and vitally important public service and healthcare issues — from the challenges associated with the accelerated pace of urbanization to improving people’s access to education and enhancing access to healthcare — all amid public sector budget pressures and limited resources. The public services and healthcare team will continue to focus on offering the right mix of cloud, hosted and on-premise technology that customers can use to improve their efficiency and the quality of life for the citizens, students and patients they serve.
White began his career with SAP in 2002 as chief financial officer (CFO) for the Americas region. He helped establish the SAP National Security Services (NS2) division and headed the company’s political action committee (PAC). In his previous role as CFO for the Global Customer Operactions (GCO), White oversaw strategic financial activities including such areas as legal, real estate and pricing and contracts. Prior to joining SAP, White served as the senior vice president and corporate controller at Lucent Technologies. He has held senior management roles in the IT industry since 1980, including positions with Cadence Design Systems and Unisys.
White received a master’s degree in business administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Cincinnati.
