Last year’s Innovation Camps were such a success that we’re offering another opportunity in July to show you how we can help solve your business challenges and introduce you to our new groundbreaking innovations and the SAP “mission control center” approach to help keep your organization running at peak performance.
The camp is spread over two days and divided into four main tracks based on your business needs. New this year are “Meet the Experts Hours” when you can visit each track and meet with SAP experts, as well as your peers, to discuss your own organization’s current business challenges. See the track descriptions below and register to reserve your spot, and book your accommodations by July 19, 2013.
SAP Strategy Including the Control Center Approach, Bringing SAP
Experts and Customers Together to Fulfill Business Requirement
Colleen Speer, Vice President and Head of SAP Active Global Support North America
Followed by - A Real Life Customer Success Story on Co-Innovation with SAP Active Global Support
Enable the Real-Time Enterprise for all Lines of Business:
Whichever line of business you work in, join us for this educational and interactive two day session tailored to your business needs.
On day one, our experts will introduce targeted strategies to drive business improvements with optimization and innovation, based on an optimal understanding of the opportunities at-hand and the innovations possible. We’ll discuss how the concept of a “real-time enterprise” can more effectively address fragmentation of processes and information and can recognize the business value we generate together when streamlining your business process execution.
On day two, we’ll break out into individual sessions that closely align with your specific area of expertise and discuss the business challenges that exist in your line of business today. For selected areas, we’ll demonstrate how a “Best Business Practice” can bring powerful frameworks to life by linking measurable indicators, value drivers, innovations, and implementation practices into one compelling story.
The individual sessions will include:
- Manufacturing and Supply Chain
- Marketing, Sales, and After-Sales - track cancelled due to lack of registrants
- Engineering, Portfolio, and Project Management
Development and Projects: Mobile and User Experience
The rise of mobile devices in the enterprise offer untapped opportunities, but they also present significant challenges for IT around cost and security. Although there’s a great benefit to enterprise mobility, there are also many aspects that need to be carefully considered and efficiently built within an implementation and operations strategy.
At the same time, consumerization and generation Y are rapidly redefining the expected enterprise experience. Today, nearly everyone is using some type of software, and people expect the same look and feel for enterprise applications that they get from consumer ones.
In this track, we’ll discuss enterprise mobility and map general requirements against the capabilities of SAP Mobile Platform. Services-enabled applications allow for decoupling of the application layer (business functions) from the presentation layer. At the heart of this decoupling, SAP NetWeaver Gateway rapidly enables multi-channel deployments on any device, whether stationary or mobile. Most importantly, these deployments can be added without changing the existing user interfaces in the SAP Business Suite. We’ll demonstrate this by leveraging Windows 8, HTML5 functionality, and native development best practices.
The second part of the track will focus on tools and best practices that can
be used to improve the user experience of your existing solutions. SAP Screen
Personas can be used to optimize existing SAP GUI screens without touching a
single line of code. Learn more about how a service-decoupled approach allows
you to develop user interfaces that will deliver role-based working
environments, work lists, and guided procedures that will integrate into their
workspace and provide the analytical functions users needed to efficiently
perform their jobs, creating the ultimate user experience derived through
multi-channel access of applications.

Development and Projects: Two Value
Releases per Year Based on SAP HANA Innovation
In order to deliver tangible value to different lines of business and accelerate innovation, we’ll explain how IT can deliver two value releases per year combining SAP software updates with customer releases. In these discussions, we’ll focus on best practices for both deployments and projects and touch different aspects starting with development, integration, testing, migration, and managing and optimizing migrations and operations. We’ll share exciting new concepts, including the innovation control center, and explain how to deploy and provision SAP best practices right from the beginning. We’ll also discuss how to manage an upgrade, database migration, and technical infrastructure in one easy step and optimize custom code within SAP HANA.

Transforming Infrastructure and Operations
In this track, we’ll go over both the transition to SAP HANA and operational excellence through the operations control center. You’ll have the opportunity to see an operations control center and have ample time for one-on-one discussions with our experts.
When migrating to SAP HANA, it’s important to develop both a technical infrastructure solution and transition plan that mitigate risk to the business. Join us in this track to learn about the critical aspects to consider when migrating SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse or SAP Business Suite from any database to SAP HANA. Gain valuable insight into technical infrastructure architecture considerations, viable migration methods, and recommended transition roadmaps. You’ll learn about the SAP Active Global Support service offerings available to help you with your migration, regardless of where you currently are with your project, planning through operations. Learn from other customer experiences in our customer knowledge exchange session. You’ll also have the chance to share your knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned in our planned group discussion and in the offline networking sessions.
Transform Operations with the Operations Control Center (OCC)
SAP has introduced the concept of the operations control center (OCC) to standardize and automate IT operational procedures. Since its introduction, OCCs are helping SAP customers increase availability and service quality, manage software performance and data consistency, and at the same time allow for a high rate of innovation adoption without disruption to the business.
In our Innovation Summer Camp, you’ll have the opportunity to join SAP in
creating best-practice procedures for critical areas. You can confer with SAP
experts on the best plan to address your operational excellence requirements.
Each customer will be given sufficient time to discuss his or her requirements
and particular points of focus – we’ve planned a flexible agenda that allows us
to extend the discussion of any topics from day one that require in-depth
