    • SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood. SAP Central Process Scheduling enables you to: automate, monitor, and manage complex business processes; reduce end-to-end business process time; and improve user and customer service. This demonstration shows one example of the many ways SAP Central Process Scheduling improves efficiency and maximizes return on investment. In this demonstration, you'll see how the software allows you to easily import a multi-step job from the SAP computing center management system and better optimize the application workflow. Import a multi-step job. Martin Schumann is a system administrator. He wants to use SAP Central Process Scheduling to import a multi-step job from an SAP application. He can see three SAP applications and can view details of the application he has selected, E05. SAP Central Process Scheduling connects to the SAP application through a specific interface, enabling centralized management of Martin's SAP workload. The software can manage the workload of each connected application, controlling when and under what conditions it is submitted, responding to exceptions, and providing access to task output. Martin wants to import jobs defined within the E05 application. The Submit Job wizard makes it easy to select specific jobs and run them. Martin simply types in a few characters, and the auto-suggest feature presents matching jobs. Martin easily finds the job he needs. He then selects the SAP application and client he wants to import jobs from. He uses a wildcard search to import all jobs in the E05 application into SAP Central Process Scheduling. Next, he specifies how he wants to handle aspects such as spool and log-file management. He then submits the job for execution. Once the jobs are imported, centralized control allows Martin to avoid administration overhead and take advantage of sophisticated scheduling and automation. Optimize application workflow. Martin next uses SAP Central Process Scheduling to optimize the workflow of his applications. Multi-step jobs are automatically imported into SAP Central Process Scheduling in a job chain, or grouping of related jobs. Martin can see an imported chain of jobs that are part of the financial close process of the E05 application. He simply clicks on the job chain and selects Edit to modify the process flow. In the job-chain editor, the process flow appears first. Martin can see that there are five jobs in the chain that will run sequentially. He explores how to manipulate the sequence to improve workflow and reduce processing time. For example, the first and second jobs need to run in sequence, but the last three jobs can start at the same time and run in parallel. By simply dragging and dropping the jobs, Martin can schedule all three jobs to start in Step 3, and then delete Steps 4 and 5. This parallel processing results in a more efficient job chain and saves time in the end-to-end process by optimizing the workflow. This is one of the many ways SAP Central Process Scheduling enables you to automate, monitor, and manage complex business processes; reduce end-to-end business process time; and improve user and customer service.
