Enabling you to increase visibility into the impact of risks, reduce cost and risk across strategic initiatives, and increase your strategic effectiveness. Identify risk. Pete Jones is the general manager of CRG Global Enterprises, an industrial supplies manufacturer. Pete has received an e-mail alert indicating that the company is falling behind on a strategic objective. He opens SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management to look into it. Pete can see that all business objectives are being met except one. He looks at the status of associated key performance indicators. While two of the performance indicators are OK, risk exposure is starting to trend up. This objective is managed by the SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management application, so Pete clicks the link to learn more. A heat map shows an elevated status for the risk, indicating a high probability it will happen. By clicking on the risk, Pete can see general information and drivers associated it. In the key-risk indicators tab, Pete can see if a risk monitor has been implemented. Three key-risk indicators are documented. He sees an elevated status for one of the indicators, so the risk owner – Neil Forest – should have been notified. Pete clicks on the response-plan tab and sees a mitigation plan has been created. The risk is still elevated so Pete would like to institute a new response. Pete adds a response – search and qualify preferred vendors – and he approves an additional budget for the mitigation. Pete assigns Neil Forest as the risk owner and applies a timeline for implementation. Pete alerts Neil to his new responsibility and logs out. Mitigate risk. Neil Forest is the procurement manager for CRG Global Enterprises. Neil has received an alert so he logs into SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management and finds a work item. Neil clicks the item to complete the task. The software provides a guided framework for Neil to perform a risk analysis. In step one, Neil can view details of the risk and the risk level. Since the risk level is high, Neil chooses to mitigate. He sees the new item Pete added and provides an implementation plan for the new risk response. Neil will implement the new response plan and update the effectiveness once the new procedure is operational. Neil reviews his risk analysis and closes out to complete the work item. Manage risk. Nancy DaSilva is the Director of the Enterprise Risk Management program for CRG Global Enterprises. Nancy has set up the software to notify her when any key-response indicators cross a defined threshold level. Therefore, Nancy has received the same alert notice that Neil received. Nancy logs in to view the status of all procurement risk on the heat map. She notices an elevated status for a key risk so she drills down to learn more. Nancy can review the response action already documented by Pete and Neil. Nancy has the authority to assign additional response actions, but she is satisfied with the actions indicated and logs out.
