    • SAP Enterprise Modeling by IDS Scheer. SAP Enterprise Modeling helps you identify mission-critical IT systems and align them with business-process requirements. This demonstration shows how SAP Enterprise Modeling allows you to visualize business processes, view applications and their attributes, and compare current and future process states. Enabling you to increase process effectiveness, reduce operating costs, and achieve competitive advantage. Martin Schuman is a department manager for a large manufacturer. His organization has just upgraded its SAP ERP software, and he needs to ensure that relevant business processes are integrated and standardized. He starts by using SAP Enterprise Modeling to get a high-level view of key processes. He can easily move from conceptual levels to logical and even physical levels, all while maintaining appropriate relationships and threads across these levels. When he navigates to the desired level, he can see the entire context of every object and artifact. He wants to get more information about his company's "Pro Order" application. By simply clicking on the artifact, Martin can see all its attributes, which he can easily expand and customize to meet his needs. Because it accesses a central repository, SAP Enterprise Modeling allows Martin to understand the complete context of the Pro Order application, without the need for time-consuming discovery meetings. Martin can extrapolate across relationships. He can also use standard or custom queries to understand the impact of changes. For example, he can run a query to determine which activities are affected by the application. He can also determine which users would be affected by an application failure. Now Martin returns to the conceptual level. SAP Enterprise Modeling takes advantage of standard SAP process scenarios, which can describe both existing, as-is processes and future, to-be processes. This allows Martin to go beyond traditional business process modeling. Because transaction codes and other SAP data are already linked, Martin can launch transactions directly from the models. He can also generate configuration scripts for his IT department so that implementations are efficient, accurate, and based on business needs. Next, Martin performs a side-by-side analysis of the current, as-is process and the future, to-be process. If desired, he can also compare a global process template with a local process definition. He can even conduct a discrete event simulation to uncover bottlenecks in the as-is process and predict the performance of the to-be process. The software provides reporting capabilities to help Martin identify issues such as application redundancies to lower maintenance costs. Finally, Martin can use the software to manage his company's enterprise architecture strategy. He can apply the strategy by generating IT support views to help manage the IT landscape across the enterprise. SAP Enterprise Modeling by IDS Scheer gives you the tools you need to increase process effectiveness, reduce operating costs, and achieve competitive advantage.
