    • In this set of demonstrations, you’ll see how software from SAP can help you align your capital projects
    • with company strategy and manage your capital projects, in an integrated manner, from the boardroom to the building site and back.
    • This helps you plan and build critical assets in a transparent, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
    • Review asset performance. Anita Patel is the chief executive officer of ABC Energy.
    • She uses the SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management application to monitor asset performance and oversee the company’s strategic plans and initiatives.
    • This provides access to dashboards and reports showing asset performance, scorecards measuring KPIs,
    • as well as the strategies and initiatives that ABC has established to move it toward its goals.
    • According to the Strategy Pathways chart, ABC should be starting to emphasize increased energy generation.
    • The strategy map shows the strategies ABC plans to use to increase energy generation—but the orange icon next to the oval on the left indicates that ABC is not meeting its goals.
    • She can look at the scorecard to see why that might be. All the objectives associated with the strategy are listed here. She can gain insights simply by clicking on an icon.
    • At a glance, she can see what is compromising efforts to increase production: the number of unscheduled maintenance events in the Latin America and Asia Pacific regions.
    • Latin America had five unscheduled maintenance events last month; Asia Pacific had four; and neither should have had more than two.
    • Anita knows that that’s often the result of unexpected equipment failures, and that has a negative effect on production.
    • She can quickly see whether any initiatives are in place to remedy this situation—and, indeed, optimizing regional facilities is already part of the plan.
    • By clicking on the link, she can see a detailed description of the initiative, its targeted start and end dates, the initiative owner, the stakeholders, and much more.
    • As you can see, the SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management application can help your corporate leaders
    • see opportunities for operational improvement and connect those opportunities to strategic objectives and specific initiatives—but there’s more to the story than this.
    • Anita’s ability to monitor and connect these efforts is part of a broad, integrated vision for portfolio and project management.
    • With the click of her mouse, Anita can connect those initiatives with people at ABC tasked with managing those initiatives effectively.
    • By clicking the link below you can see how ABC’s vice president of portfolio management can use
    • the SAP Portfolio and Project Management application to help him manage the initiative that Anita is about to assign him.
