Betagro Runs Better with Ariba, an SAP Company
Agro-industry leader uses cloud-based applications and business network to lower costs, boost efficiency
SAP today announced that the Betagro Group, a leading Thai agro-industry and food business, is getting a boost in its performance from the cloud-based applications and business network of Ariba, an SAP company.
Founded in 1967, the Betagro Group is engaged in animal feed production, livestock, animal health products and food products. To improve the performance of its manufacturing process as well as to manage its growing local and overseas business, the company sought a scalable and cost-effective IT solution.
"At Betagro, we are constantly looking for ways to do things faster, smarter and more efficiently," said Nopparat Suwanwalaigorn, Procurement Information System Senior Division Manager, Betagro. "Every day, we manage huge amounts of information between Betagro Group, our branches, and regional offices – and much of this was handled inefficiently in the past. With Ariba, we have been able to automate key processes, collaborate more efficiently with our suppliers, and gain critical insights that have greatly improved our performance,"
According to Suwanwalaigom, Betagro has also seen a reduction in costs of about 7% since putting Ariba’s solutions in place. And Suwanwalaigorn adds that "Working with Ariba has also been instrumental in helping us perform rapid data analysis and achieve better insights into information – and make timely, well-informed decisions based on that data."
Betagro achieved these objectives using Ariba Sourcing On Demand, a cloud-based application delivered on the Ariba Network through which it can create effective markets for direct materials and indirect goods and services.
As companies like Betagro have figured out, knowledge is power. And business networks- and the cloud-based applications delivered on them - are the key to unleashing its potential and achieving unprecedented levels of productivity. "Just as consumers tap into personal networks like Facebook, Twitter and Amazon.com to connect with friends and family, share and shop, companies are leveraging digital networks to more efficiently engage with their trading partners and collaborate across the entire commerce process," said Shyam Prasad, Vice President of Applications, SAP South East Asia. "Through Ariba, companies like Betagro can effectively maximize relationships with customers and suppliers and transform commerce into an efficient and insightful process and competitive weapon that drives sustainable advantage,"
